Parasite was a gallery founded and directed by DJCS from 2020 to 2022, operating from the staircase of his home at 448 Karangahape Road, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Parasite was the first explicitly queer focused contemporary art gallery in Aotearoa New Zealand, presenting emerging and established artists. Artists presented by Parasite subsequently received significant institutional recognition, including major exhibitions, acquisitions, international residencies and selection for the Walters Prize. Parasite was supported by Creative New Zealand.
